About the site: "The LED Thing" is an Internet retail store that offers replacement LED lights for both residential and commercial applications. It also promotes a wide variety of LED Christmas Lights that feature full-wave-bridge rectification. My idea is to provide LED lamps that use the latest in LED technology and offer the highest efficacy (lumen/watt) at the best price possible and sell them on a convenient, user-friendly online store. With the ban on manufacturing incandescent lamps and the environmental hazards of CFL's, I strongly believe that the LED lamp is the greenest option available. If you don't find what you're looking for on the site, or you are interested in larger quanties, contact me directly and I'll do my best to meet your needs. Substancial price reductions are available on orders large enough to purchase directly from the manufacture.
Buy online and pay with any major credit card or with your PayPal account. All transactions are made through and are protected by PayPal. (no credit information is released to this site) Please bookmark the site, as the technology, quality, and availability of LED products increase so will my product line. Thank you for taking the time to visit.
About me: I've been an electrician for over thirty years. From 1980 to 1986, I was in the Navy, serving on the USS Arkansas as an elcectrician in the nuclear power field. In 1987 I re-started my career doing a five year apprenticeship with the IBEW in Portland, Oregon. During that time I was also a member of the Oregon Air National Gaurd working in the cival engineering department. (working as an electrician) After my apprenticeship, for the next six years, I worked as a journeyman electrician during the day and instructed (electrical apprenticeship) for Portland Community College in the evenings. Currently, I still work as a commercial electrician. I've always had a interest in green energy, so in April of 2009 I started "The LED Thing". I feel that the fastest way to deal with our energy issues is not to jump in and build clean solar, wind, and wave generating plants, (although those are excellent things to do) but to first learn to conserve energy. Just by switching all your incandescent lamps to LED lamps you can reduce your lighting consumption by more than 500%! Not a bad start.
